Terms of Service
What a quotation from us is, what it is not, and what we each agree to.
This is a draft. It sets out sensible commercial terms for what the site describes, but it is not a substitute for legal advice. Have a Slovak solicitor review it, and make sure it matches how the business actually operates, before you rely on it.
These terms govern the use of this website and the free quotation service offered through it. They are between you and Expand Beyond Borders s.r.o. (“we”, “us”). Supply of goods is governed by a separate written contract, not by this page.
What we do
You send us a photograph of a product. We attempt to identify the factory that manufactures it and prepare an indicative landed cost for delivery to you, with duty and tax included.
The quotation is free and places you under no obligation. Preparing one does not create a contract of sale between us.
What a quotation is, and is not
- A quotation is indicative. It is based on the information you give us and on prices, freight rates, and duty rates as they stand on the day.
- It is valid for the period stated on it. If no period is stated, treat it as 14 days.
- It may change if your specification, quantity, delivery terms, tariff classification, or country of origin changes.
- A binding price arises only in a signed order confirmation.
We may decline to quote, and we do not have to give a reason. Where we cannot identify the manufacturer, we will tell you so.
What we need from you
You confirm that:
- the information and photographs you send are accurate, and yours to send;
- you have the right to import and sell the product in your market;
- you are not asking us to source anything unlawful, restricted, sanctioned, or infringing someone else's trade mark, design, or patent.
We do not knowingly source counterfeit or infringing goods. If we believe an enquiry would infringe a third party's rights, we will decline it. Establishing that a product may lawfully be copied, imported, and sold is your responsibility.
Duty, tariffs, and classification
Duty rates and tariff classifications are set by the customs authorities of the destination country and change without notice. Figures we give you, including the worked examples in our published guides, are estimates prepared in good faith.
Nothing on this site is legal, tax, or customs advice. Where you are named as importer of record, the declaration and any duty owed remain your legal responsibility.
The assistant on the quote page
The quote page is driven by a language model. It asks the questions, writes the summary, and suggests a tariff code. Everything it produces is informational and it can be wrong, including the tariff code, the duty line, and the figures it repeats back to you. It is not a quotation and it is not advice.
We do not rely on it ourselves: a person checks the classification and every number before a price reaches you. You agree not to rely on it either, and we accept no liability for a decision taken on the basis of what it said. The binding version is the quotation a person sends you.
Your data
How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy.
You keep ownership of the photographs and specifications you send. You grant us permission to use them for the purpose of answering your enquiry, including sharing the product image with potential manufacturers and inspection partners. We do not tell them who you are.
We publish nothing about you or your enquiry without your written permission. No case study, no guide, no social post, no screenshot, no client reference. We will ask first and show you what we intend to publish, and you can say no or withdraw permission later.
Our content
The text, layout, and graphics on this site belong to Expand Beyond Borders s.r.o.. You are welcome to read, print, and quote from our guides with attribution and a link. You may not republish them wholesale or present them as your own.
Liability
We publish this site and prepare quotations carefully, but:
- we do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free;
- we do not accept liability for decisions taken solely on the basis of an indicative quotation, of information published in our guides, or of anything the assistant on the quote page said;
- our liability is limited to the fees you have paid us, except where the law does not permit that limit;
- nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Where you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Availability
We may change or withdraw the site, or these terms, at any time. The version in force is the one published here when you use the site. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Slovak Republic. Disputes fall to the courts of the Slovak Republic, unless a separate signed contract between us says otherwise or the law requires a different forum.
